Payout Breakdown
Understanding Place & Show Bets
Place: Your horse must finish 1st or 2nd. Lower payout than win but easier to hit.
Show: Your horse must finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Lowest payout but highest chance of cashing.
Across the Board: Three separate $2 bets (Win, Place, Show = $6 total). If your horse wins, you collect all three payouts. If 2nd, you get place and show. If 3rd, just show.
Place and show pools are divided among all finishing horses, so payouts vary based on how much money was bet on the horses that finish in the money.
