Trifecta Box Calculator
Calculate the cost of boxing horses in a trifecta bet
Enter 3 or more horse numbers
Formula: Combinations = n × (n-1) × (n-2), where n = number of horses
Example: Boxing 4 horses = 4 × 3 × 2 = 24 combinations
What is a Trifecta Box?
A trifecta box allows you to select multiple horses to finish first, second, and third in any order. You win if your selected horses sweep the top three positions in any combination.
Trifectas typically pay more than exactas because they're harder to hit. Boxing makes it easier to win but increases your cost since you're covering all possible finishing orders.
A 3-horse box has 6 combinations ($1 minimum = $6), a 4-horse box has 24 combinations ($24), and a 5-horse box has 60 combinations ($60).
